Coachella 2014 / Get The Look & Fashion Favourites

COACHELLA! Yes, the caps lock was completely necessary because right now I am obsessed with the Californian festival, that is, Coachella. If you don't know what Coachella is, do me a favour, open a tab and tap it into your preferred web browser - Google proves to be popular and from there may you be introduced into another festival world. Coachella is literally the only music festival that I crave to go to. However, there is one problem, the large mass of sea that divides me and the USA. This means making an appearance at such a festival would be both insanely costly and impractical because I'm a student sitting exams really, really soon…so sadly the road trip wasn't exactly on the cards.
The festival is still ongoing but while the atmosphere, hot weather and of course the music would all be part of the Coachella experience, I'm more interested in another thing - the fashion. I've been gathering together some of my celeb favourite festival looks and I've got to say - Vanessa Hudgens is KILLING IT. Although all outfits have been pretty daring and outrageous, Vanessa Hudgens' bohemian-inpsired festival looks are knocking it out the park for me and if you haven't already seen her fashion choices - feast your eyes upon these pictures!

Vanessa has a place in everyone's heart; boys secretly love her and girls want to be her - I want her clothes. From accessories to the outfit itself, Vanessa's outfit is on point - she's well and truly nailed the Bohemian-chic look. Kimonos have been on the fashion rails for a few seasons now and get ready to wear them now more than ever, especially if you're heading off to an upcoming festival. Kimonos are perfect for adding instant style to even the simplest outfits, they add an injection of colour and an element of movement and grace. To get Vanessa's look, stack your fingers with jewellery, your wrists with bangles, your ears with big, dangly earrings and get your paws on some head jewellery.

Take a fashion tip from Vanessa Hudgens and accessorise with a fan this festival season - keeping you cool and keeping it edgy.

The simplicity of these outfits is half their charm. My favourite is the one above which is accessorised interestingly by bringing back the 'disc belt'. By wearing it,Vanessa Hudgens should've committed a major fashion 'no-no'. For those of you who are too young to remember the disc belt, well, that sort of makes two of us..I remember the disc belt but I never had the privilege to own one myself. Even the biggest style Queens out there wouldn't really dream of bringing the disc belt back because quite frankly it dangerously verges on being a major fashion cringe, however, Vanessa really shows you how a disc belt is just as cool as your bog-standard belt. In fact, it is partly what makes this outfit such a success. The bold disc belt is one major accessory here adding not only a bit of bohemian-jewel into the mix but also adding new dimensions (literally) with the circular formation and nature of the belt. Because I like this outfit so much I put together a 'Get The Look', collaging together some similar items that would re-create a similar look to Vanessa's.

Of course, Vanesa Hudgens wasn't the only celeb whose style I've been stalking..here are just a few more -pictures of my favourite outfits.

Beyonce and Jay-Z = Coolest couple on earth. I love Bey's outfit and appreciate Jay-Z's bandanna accessorising - edgy Jay. I loved Beyonce's outfit so much that I put together a 'Get The Look' so that you can steal Bey's style from head-to-toe.

Who's a Pretty Little Liars fan? Well I certainly am and whether it's on screen or off-screen, the PLL cast have awesome and personal to them style. Ashley is rocking a more gothic edge, Shay a floral, matching two piece and Troian a simple leotard-style top and denim shorts! These girls have a nice, 'girl-next-door' style.

Ok, so maybe this isn't really a style picture but I love this group selfie of some of the girls at Coachella including Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez.

Kendall has been a little bit slated for her daring outfits at Coachella but I absolutely love Kendall's new daring and edgy twist on her style. This outfit is quite gothic head-to-toe with the black lace draping and trailing behind her with this oversized-style Kimono.

The daring side of Kendall has been unleashed and this large nose piece accessory is an example of that. Love it or hate it, that's up to you but ask yourself this question - could you pull off such an extravagant ring attached to your nose? Ermm...I couldn't - thumbs up from me Kendall.

So apparently Selena and Kylie are new BFF's..Maybe this is a fleeting friendship or the start of something truly beautiful - personally, I care more about their style which is unique, different and I really love it. Starting with Miss Jenner, her oversized t-shirt paired with a bum bag or 'fanny pack' (as you lovely American readers call them) make Kylie's outfit typical 'festival-attire'. Selena's outfit is my favourite of the two, wearing a lace dress over that typical festival attire of shorts and a crop top. Selena's outfit is edgy and puts a spin on the typical festival outfit.

Kendall is having fun with her more normal festival attire. I love her overcoat here adding a bit of a party spirit as it clearly has a life of its own. Take a fashion tip from Kendall and snap up a sleeveless jacket/coat for this S/S14 because they're major this season!

Alexa Chung rocked up to Coachella looking casual but fashion forward with an interesting leopard coat in hand, a lace, long-sleeve crop top, converse which serve a place in everyone's heart and wardrobe and a mini denim skirt.

1. Matalan Print Coat £24 / 2. Boohoo.com Sienna Long Sleeve Lace Crop Top £12 / 3. Schuh Black Converse £45 / 4. Tommy Hilfiger Sophie Mini Denim Skirt £42.50

Cara D and model chums show a variety of festival styles. Cara sporting a tomboy look with a snapback, trousers and a casual tee, paired with a quirky pose to the camera. Her model friends sporting kimonos, biker jackets and denim shorts - great for some fashion festival inspo!

Hilary Duff has been on our fashion radar since those Lizzie McGuire days but Hilary's style is now better than ever. I love this festival look as it's effortless and fairly simplistic but she adds her own edge to the typical festival look. Similar to Mrs Carter's look above, Hilary has paired her shorts with a wrapped around denim short and gone for a stylish sun hat to complete the look and some practical boots for standing around and walking! I love it Hil!

Diana's outfit is fun and a colour burst - matching crop and bottoms whether it's shorts or a skirt is really in this S/S14.

Are you going to a festival this year? Why not take some fashion-inspo from these festival outfits and start planning now!

Kylie Jenner Hairspiration

Most people love the Kardashians. As the seasons keep popping up on my TV screen I have certainly grown to love them. In particular the fandom of the Jenner clan has for sure expanded rapidly. We've seen Kendall Jenner causing a stir with her alleged romance with everyone's favourite teenager - Harry Styles, her raised High Fashion profile walking on some major catwalks for major fashion shows and constantly posting some enviable instagram snaps. And, not forgetting Kylie Jenner - fashion-forward, stunning and the envy of most teenage girls - especially her hair.
Although Kylie has cut her long hair off, her new cut is cooler than ever before. However, I looked at Kylie's hair over the past few years and came up with an idea for a blog post - Kylie Jenner Hair Inspiration. Kylie's hair has always been amazing - before she got the chop it was long and luscious and, unlike some of her sisters', it was completely natural. Here are some hairspiration ideas that I've gathered together if you're thinking of changing your hair up, or you just want a cool new style and to try something new. If you want to be Kylie, this might be a step in the right direction - stealing her hair!

Starting with Kylie's hair in its longer days, I found some styles like this which are fun, cool and super easy to do. A little Miley Cyrus inspired, Kylie's two up-do buns are so cute and look a little 'Minnie Mouse-esque'. I definitely want to try this style, it's slightly daring and bold because it's not your average hairstyle but you'll be turning heads for all the right reasons - hair envy!

A simple beach wave is a must as the Summer months are fast approaching. Kylie's hair is effortless and natural - easy style and it looks good!

A ponytail - you can't go wrong with a ponytail. Probably one the quickest and easiest styles out there, tip your head upside down, gather your hair and tie it in a hairband for Kylie's super high pony, then pull the front sections of your hair outwards for even more volume.

If you're a little bit lazy and can't be bothered to spend a couple of minutes on your hair to change up the style, then this is definitely the hairspiration that you need. Accessories are truly wonderful creations, not only do they make an outfit ten times more edgy and add that little extra something to your look, they can also save you effort in many ways. For example, adding a Summery flower hairband to your hair like Kylie can completely transform your look and your hair. It takes seconds to put on and will hold down any fly-away hairs for those bad hair days!

Another ponytail inspiration from Kylie, this time a little less messy and sleeked back into a precise but casual pony - I love!

Sectioning specific areas of your hair like this and applying a style is quicker than applying the style to your whole head of hair and also looks really edgy. Kylie has sectioned off the side of her hair and tightly braided it for effect. Seen on other fashion-forward and stylish celebs like Cara Delevigne, this style may look tricky but is actually pretty simple. Get small strands of hair in three sections and start your braid/plait as normal - bearing in mind that you have to tug a little harder on your hair to make the plait tighter and smaller like Kylie's. I love this style and hopefully will try it out myself sometime, I think it's a really effective and edgy look which is pretty straightforward and gives your hair a different dimension!

Another example of how accessories can transform and make your outfit. Adding a hat like this will flatten any fly-aways, hide a bad hair day and add to any outfit, while keeping those sun rays out of your eyes this Summer - it's a win-win situation so grab yours now!

Posing with big sis Kendall, Kylie sports a sleeked back, medium ponytail like Kendall. I think this look is really cool and is definitely different from the standard ponytail, especially with the addition of the bandana.

Aaah, this is why we all love Kylie - she's just like us (well at least we'd like to think). Having fun, smiling and relaxed in her bikini and tee, Kylie's wears a casual, up-do bun. This is probably one of my personal favourite hairstyles because it's so easy and quick to just throw your hair up, scrunch it up a little and you have a hairstyle!

Moving onto Kylie's most recent hairstyles, you could add a stripe of colour into your hair like Kylie. Adding colour block to your hair can make it edgier - do you fancy being daring?

I think this style is super cute and is perfect for any of you who have short locks like Kylie. These mini french braids are adorable and you won't have to worry about your hair looking good because they'll stay in place - that's the advantage of the French plait! The only downside is you may need a little assistance because they're slightly tricky to do yourself but practise makes perfect!

Kylie is cool - Amen. This is her classic new hairstyle - a slight ombre, dip-dye effect on the ends of her sharp and edgy shorter locks.

Another up-do but this time with her shorter hair. A micro bun like Kylie's is cute and easily done - just scrape your hair back and tie it up - simple!

What's your favourite style? Did you like Kylie's hair long or short? I personally cannot decide which I prefer - they're both uh-maze. Have a lovely, lazy Sunday (if you can and aren't like me revising - gross!)...

Review / Rihanna Viva Glam MAC

Flicking through the countless fashion magazines that I have piled up on my desk, I noticed a reoccurring pattern, nearly all of them featured Rihanna, displaying her posing for this year's Viva Glam. Last year Nicki Minaj was the face of MAC's Viva Glam collection and although it was awesome the purple and pink themed collection wasn't really up my street so I gave it a miss. This year has delighted me, however. Rihanna's Viva Glam collection is bold, fun and totally irresistible. I physically couldn't walk out of the store without purchasing the products - usually the case, but this time it goes to a worthy cause at least. MAC's Viva Glam was set up to help people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Rihanna poses for this year's Viva Glam to help the lives of those who need support - your purchases will all help as proceeds go towards the cause. The lipstick is priced at £15 and the lip glass is £14 - you can buy them by clicking here.
I absolutely LOVE these shades. I'll start with the lipstick...I am a big fan of red lipsticks, lipsticks in general in fact - I adopt a couple each month. With this in mind, I obviously loved Rihanna's Viva Glam lipstick - bold and definitely fierce. The lipstick doesn't have a particular scent, unlike some lipsticks (for example, my Estee Lauder lipstick smells of Parma Violet sweets). The texture of the lipstick is 'frost' which basically means that it has a hint of gleam and shimmer to its finish. It's really moisturising and not at all drying on the lips. Overall it's pretty long-wearing but like all lipsticks it eventually fades, so a top-up here and there is essential for keeping the boldness. The pigmentation of the lipstick is dramatic and it's definitely not a subtle shade - is red ever subtle? The lip glass similarly is pretty bold but is far more subtle than the lipstick. The two paired together are amazing if you want an even bolder lip with even more sparkle and shimmer. The lip glass, as you can see from the picture of the swatch above, has sparkle and gleam and similarly its texture is labelled as 'frost'. The gloss has a hint of vanilla in its smell, which is always pleasing - right? Once applied onto your lips the gloss isn't overly tacky or sticky like some glosses and the name 'lip glass' suits it to a T because it has a transparent, 'glassy' gleam and shimmer.

I'm super pleased with my purchases and think that MAC's Viva Glam is awesome. Why? Well, you're not only making superb investments with your money, you're putting your pennies towards beauty and helping those with HIV/AIDS - it's a win-win situation with absolutely no guilt for splurging on makeup whatsoever.

Have you brought Rihanna's Viva Glam products? If not - why not? You'll love them - promise.

April / What's On My Fashion Wish List

To be quite honest, I've had to condense this months wish list..It seems that my eyes are bigger than my purse will allow and with the new stock flooding into the high streets I'm in a state of torture - I want it all. Materialistic? Yes. Intentionally? No. I just love clothes. I've picked out my favourite items from my extensive wish list this month and collaged them, as usual, below.

1. H&M Coated Wrap Around Skirt £19.99 / 2. River Island Pink High Waisted Shorts £30 / 3. Topshop Gingham Scrunchie £4 / 4. Topshop Bear Sweat by Tee and Cake £35 / 5. H&M Sweatshirt Top £12.99 / 6. New Look Blue Sleeveless Tropical Print Crop Top £9.99 / 7. Missguided Wanera Strappy Floral Playsuit £14.99

1. H&M Coated Wrap Around Skirt - I love this metallic detailed skirt because it's nailing one of S/S14's most edgy trends - metallics. This metallic skirt is perfect for both daytime and evening wear - and as I always say, dress it up with accessories and down with minimal accessories, flats and a casual sweater.

2. River Island Pink High Waisted Shorts - These pastel coloured, High Waisted Shorts are perfect for the Summer weather that is fast approaching (hopefully). Last Summer I lived in my denim high waisted shorts so I can't go wrong with another purchase eventually. The pastel pink screams Spring and brighter days!

3. Topshop Gingham Scrunchie - I am so thrilled that scrunchies are no longer for playground children. Sure, I had a whole collection of scrunchies, but that was back in my hopscotch days…the better days for many reasons - scrunchies being one of them. But, that's all changing because scrunchies are now acceptable for the average teen/adult - hurrah! I can't wait to accumulate an expansive scrunchie collection and fear not - I will.

4. Topshop Bear Sweat by Tee and Cake - Cosy, slouchy and a perfect 'chill' sweater - can I have it now please?

5. H&M Sweatshirt Top - Logo tees are taking off in a big way. I like the simplicity of this logo tee and although it doesn't exactly have any groundbreaking message on it, it sure makes you think of Summer - 'PALM SPRINGS!'

6. New Look Blue Sleeveless Tropical Print Crop Top - As you can probably tell, since the Spring and Summer stock has been rolling onto the racks of High Street stores, there's only one thing on my mind - florals. Literally every wish list that I have created has had some floral injection in it and this one is no different. I LOVE this crop top because it's under £10 and any clothes that are under £10 make me happy.

7. Missguided Wanera Strappy Floral Playsuit - Nope, my love for Missguided has not gone away and probably never will if they keep producing clothes like this! This playsuit is a feel good playsuit for sure , it's lightly coloured, floral (sorry) and Summery from head-to-toe. Embrace playsuits this season - they're easy outfits and super comfy and can be worn casual or dressy - your choice!

So there you have it, my fashion wish list..and I haven't even shown you my beauty one yet - keep your eyes peeled! What do you want this month?
